Community Guidelines

Reality only works if it stays real and stays safe. These are the rules. They form part of our Terms of Service.

Zero tolerance. Reality has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. If you post objectionable content, it will be removed and your account will be terminated. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours.

Be yourself

This is the whole point of Reality.

Every photo must be of you, taken by you, in the app. No camera roll uploads, no photos of a screen, no photos of a printed picture, no AI-generated or edited-beyond-recognition images.
No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, real or invented, including a celebrity.
Do not lie about your age. Reality is for adults only.
One person, one account.
Do not post a photo whose main subject is someone else, particularly a child, without a good reason and their consent.

Be decent to people

No harassment or bullying. That includes repeated unwanted contact, insults, and pressuring someone after they have said no.
No hate speech. Attacking people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or immigration status is not allowed.
No threats or intimidation, of any kind, against anyone.
No stalking, on Reality or off it.
No doxxing. Do not publish or share anyone's private information — address, phone number, workplace, or images of them — without their consent.
Take no for an answer. If someone stops replying, that is an answer.

Nothing sexual, nothing explicit

No nudity or sexually explicit photos, in profile photos or in messages.
No intimate images of anyone else without their consent, and no threatening to share them. This is a criminal offence in Australia and we report it.
No sexual content involving minors, ever, in any form. See below.
No commercial sexual services, escort advertising, or arranging them.
Do not send sexual content to someone who has not asked for it.

Nothing illegal

No content that is unlawful, or that depicts, promotes or facilitates crime, terrorism, or extreme violence.
No selling or promoting drugs, weapons, or other regulated goods.
No content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please reach out — Lifeline on 13 11 14, or Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636.

Child safety — an absolute line

Any content that sexualises a minor, and any attempt to contact or groom a minor, results in immediate permanent termination.

We preserve the material and the account data and report it to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), and to any other authority the circumstances require. There is no appeal and no second chance.

If you believe someone on Reality is under 18, report them under "Underage User". You can also report directly to the ACCCE at accce.gov.au/report.

No scams, no spam, no selling

Never send money to someone you met on a dating app. No exceptions, no matter how good the story is.
No asking other users for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency.
No investment, trading, crypto or "opportunity" pitches.
No phishing, no links to malware, no fake login pages.
No advertising, promotion, recruiting, or driving people to another platform.
No bots, automation, scripted behaviour or scraping.

Don't break the app

Do not try to gain unauthorised access to Reality, to another user's account, or to any of our systems.
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer the app or bypass its restrictions, including the camera-only rule.
Do not create a new account after being banned.
Do not abuse the reporting system by making reports you know to be false.

What happens when someone breaks a rule

What happens	When
Content removed	Any photo or text that breaches these guidelines is taken down.
Photo rejected	Automatically, before anyone sees it, if our scan finds explicit or violent content. Borderline photos are reviewed by a person.
Profile stops being shown	If several separate people report you for the same thing, your profile is automatically hidden from the deck while we review. This is temporary and lifts if the reports do not hold up.
Account suspended or banned	For a serious breach, or a pattern of smaller ones. Bans are permanent.
Referred to authorities	Where the law requires it, or where we believe someone is at risk of serious harm.

We take context into account, and a person reviews every ban. If you think we have got it wrong, email support@realitydating.com.au and a human will look at it again.

Bans are not refunded. Closing your account does not undo a ban, and the safety record survives it.

How to report

Tap the menu on any profile, conversation, like or message request and choose Report or Block. Reporting is confidential — the other person is never told who reported them. Blocking is silent and immediate.

You can still report someone after you have declined or blocked them.

Outside the app: email support@realitydating.com.au, report harmful online content to the eSafety Commissioner, or, if anyone is in immediate danger, call 000.
